When Winners Circler Dwight O’Neill visited the HUGS property (Help, Understanding, and Group Support for families of critically-ill children) to assess their needs, he noticed that the backyard playhouse was off-limits to the children because of its unsafe condition. When he told me about that, I thought that the Rotary Club of Honolulu (of which I am a member) would be the perfect group to restore the playhouse. And we did! In August, more than 25 Rotarians spent three days repairing, painting, ventilating, and restoring the playhouse. On September 17, the playhouse will be officially reopened to the children of HUGS! Yay, Winners Circle and yay Rotary!
